Whether you’re planning a holiday or deciding to stay in the UK, it’s important to watch your diet if you have type-2 diabetes.
Medication is one of the ways to manage blood sugar levels, but there are natural ways of keeping the glucose down.
According to Dr Sarah Brewer, who is working in association with CuraLin, travelling can have an effect on your type-2 diabetes.
But there is a simple way of keeping your blood sugar levels down when you’re in a new place.

Fruit always seems to taste better on holiday when you’re in sunnier climates, which is why it’s the best snack.
Dr Sarah said: “Eat fruit as a healthy snack, although it contains natural sugars, most have a low to moderate glycemic index.
“This means they do not raise blood sugar levels excessively (though don’t overindulge in dried fruits).”
A study, published in the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health, found that apples could avoid type-2 diabetes.
The research, which involved 38,000 women, discovered that those eating at least one apple a day were 28% less likely to develop the condition than those not eating the fruit.
Dr Sarah advises eating fruit on holiday as it’s easy to get hold of and perfect for throwing in your bag before a day at the pool.
She also suggests a pack of CuraLin, the type-2 diabetes supplement.
