There’s a reason ice cream is a summer-time staple. The decadent treat is sweet, refreshing and oh-so-delicious. But if you’re looking for a way to shake things up this season, look no further than Subway because the sandwich shop just unveiled a line of Halo Top milkshakes, and they come in three different flavors.
“We are thrilled to kick-off this partnership with Subway and bring these hand-spun milkshakes to life for everyone to enjoy,” Doug Bouton, Halo Top President & COO, said in a press release. “We enjoy finding creative and innovative ways for people to eat more ice cream (and feel good about it), and we think this partnership provides the perfect platform to do just that.”
So what “innovative” items can Halo Top — and Subway — customers expect to enjoy? For now, the ice cream purveyor is playing it safe. The milkshakes will be available three classic flavors: vanilla bean, chocolate and/or strawberry. However, guests will be able to savor other benefits, i.e. the new shakes will be far less caloric than other fast food shakes. Each one will have 350 calories (or less), 30 percent of the recommended daily value of calcium and they will be packed with protein — each shake will have 20 grams.
That said, there is one tiny catch: the shakes will only be available at select Subway shops in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Hartford, Connecticut; Longview and Tyler, Texas; Salt Lake City, Utah; Toledo, Ohio and West Palm Beach, Florida and for a limited time. The shakes are being tested from July 22 through Sept. 4. But if you find yourself living in one of these locales or traveling through, be sure to snag one. These sweet treats won’t be around long. And if not, fear not — Halo Top can still be purchased at your local grocery store and you can whip yourself up a tasty milkshake right at home.
