Gynaecologist warns women not to wear panty liners every day amid dangers

A gynaecologist has warned women that they shouldn't be wearing panty liners every day.

Expert and TikTok user Annie took to her @anniedeliversMD account to warn of the dangers.

In one of her videos, she revealed that wearing the pads too often can give you contact dermatitis – a red, itchy rash caused by direct contact with an irritant.

Too often, Annie said that tell her that they have vaginal irritation, according to The Mirror.

However, most often than not she says it's not an infection after all.

Annie says that she sees many of these women with a defined line around the vulva, which is a sign of wearing panty liners too much.

If you wear panty liners every day, Annie said: "I’d recommend carrying a Ziploc bag with you in your purse.

"When you feel discharge, change your underwear.

"But don’t wear liners. Your vulvar skin does not like them."

Annie’s video, which was shared with her 94,500 followers, has quickly gone viral – racking up a whopping 11.3 million views, with many shocked at her advice.

One person exclaimed: "Shocked at the amount of women wearing liners every day!!! That's insane. Just wipe it with toilet paper when it happens."

While another wrote: "I wear them every day and haven't had any problems. it's not 'sad' or weird, it just makes me feel more comfortable. To each their own I guess."

A third claimed: "Wearing daily liners makes you produce more discharge. Let yourself breathe."

As someone else asked: "People really wear panty liners every day? Like I normally wear it a day before or after my period."

"Try period underwear," suggested another TikTok user.
