Yolanda Hadid Just Revealed Her Lyme Disease Is In Remission

  • Yolanda Hadid recently told People that her Lyme disease is in remission.
  • She opened up about her serious struggle with the illness in 2015, saying she had lost the ability to to read, write, or even watch TV.
  • Two of her children, Bella and Anwar Hadid also suffer from lyme disease.

Seven years since Yolanda Hadid was diagnosed with Lyme disease, and she just told People she “feels better than ever.” In fact, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 55, revealed, “I’m in remission.”

“I had a really bad year last year, but I found a new frequency healing device and it’s been amazing for me. It took away 90 percent of my symptoms.” Yolanda continued. “It helped with my joint pain, the exhaustion, the brain fog, all the symptoms that come with Lyme disease.”

Lyme disease is systemic infection caused by Borrelia burgdorferi and is transmitted to humans via a deer tick bite, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The infection, if left untreated, can wreak havoc on your nervous system, heart, and joints, Steven E. Schutzer, MD, previously told Women’s Health.

It was only four years ago that Yolanda opened up about her serious condition, one that two of her children, Anwar and Bella Hadid, also live with. “I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV because I can’t process information or any stimulation for that matter,” Yolanda wrote on the Bravo blog. “It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it.”

But now, things are looking up for the former RHOBH star and model. Yolanda told People that remains positive about her experience with Lyme disease. “[My journey] was so painful but the spiritual part of my soul was saying there is a higher purpose,” Yolanda explained. “It sucks that it happened to me, but at the end of the day I put a face to the disease that nobody knew anything about. It’s very real. And lot of people are suffering. But God put me on this path to make a difference. That’s what keeps me going.”
