Mounting evidence illustrates the longevity-boosting benefits you can reap from following certain dietary patterns. A new study published in the journal PLOS illustrates the extent to which you can extend your lifespan by cutting down on meat and upping your plant intake. Leading gut health expert Doctor Megan Rossi spoke on ITV’s Lorraine this morning about how this approach can be easily implemented.
The key to boosting your life expectancy lies in “nourishing” the trillions of bacteria found in your gut, she explained.
What’s more, “it doesn’t take hours in the kitchen”, the doc said.
Doctor Rossi advised: “Add extra plants in your diet if you can. Plants are feed gut bacteria.”
According to the gut expert, the simple way to eat more plants and eat more of a range of plants.
