A&E staff have removed some unexpected objects from patient’s orifices this year.
Data from U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's (CPSC) database shows that plenty of Americans got items stuck up their bums.
Spoons, fidget spinners and Christmas decorations are among the unusual goods found inside the rectum.
And amusingly, plenty of patients tried to talk their way out of the unusual predicaments.
One patient, who was found with a cleaning product up their rear, said it got there accidentally.
A medical report notes: “patient states he slipped in the shower and landed on a metal air freshener can and it went into his rectum”.

Another patient insists they experienced a similar fate after enthusiastically getting off their sofa.
Records say they claimed to have “jumped off a couch and landed on a spoon”.
Other cringe-worthy explanations include an American who said they were “using a prostate massager and it got sucked in”.
Meanwhile, a female patient reported that a pin was up their bum because they accidentally ingested it.
The medical report notes her claiming she “swallowed a thumbtack that she thought was a mint.”

Patients didn’t just complain about getting objects trapped in their rectums, they also reported finding items in other orifices.
According to Vice , seashells and berries were medically removed from Americans’ ears in 2019.
And others reported having bath beads and chalk stuff up their noses.
When it came to items lodged in the throat, condoms made an appearance on the list.
Fuses and puzzle pieces also sparked a potential choking risk.
