Country music superstar Brett Eldredge is no stranger to anxiety, he reveals in an Instagram post caption on Monday, sharing that he’s dealt with it “for years.”
“STAY IN THE FIGHT…” the 35 year-old writes in the caption featuring a photo of himself lifting at the gym. “Lately I have had a pretty solid relationship with the anxiety beast I’ve dealt with for years…” he added.
Eldredge also shared some of the way his anxiety has shown up in his life and “overwhelmed” him. “I’d constantly be short of breath and feeling overwhelmed for days with no real explanation…” he said.
How’d the country singer work with his anxiety? “Instead of hiding(like I once did), I stuck to the process, knowing I survived all the other times and setbacks are common,” he wrote. “I kept showing up to life and leaning into the things that give me strength and stability…”
This isn’t the first time Eldredge has been open about his mental health. “I’ve dealt with anxiety for much of my life,” he previously told Men’s Health, turning to meditation and yoga to help him keep his cool.
Now he’s feeling “even stronger than before.” Eldredge shares that the photo was taken in the thick of his anxiety as a reminder that “even in the tough times, we can be strong as hell, and the storm will always pass if we face it…” His advice to others dealing the same mental health struggles: “If you’re goin through it, hang in there, you will be surprised what you’re capable of.”
