Aw, You HAVE To Hear How Hilaria Baldwin Is Coping After Her Miscarriage

Hilaria Baldwin may be grieving the loss of what would have been her fifth child, but she has no intention of disappearing from social media. In fact, she continues to turn to Instagram to let out her emotions—and offer encouragement to others.

The yogi and wellness guru just posted an Instagram sharing how she’s getting through her miscarriage, and her message is anything but self-pitying.

“In coping with loss or a difficult time, it is important to be present for your emotions and process, but also keep an eye on perspective and joyful moments.” The accompanying photo came from a friend—and shows a happy and pregnant Hilaria with two of her little kiddos, Rafa and Carmen.

In coping with loss or a difficult time, it is important to be present for your emotions and process, but also keep an eye on perspective and joyful moments. This photo, sent to me by a friend just now, was taken 3 years ago today. This is Rafa, I am like 5-6 months pregnant with Leonardo, and Carmen is off to the right. Peaceful, happy, full of love. When I get sad, I like to remind myself that sadness passes like a season. I like to look at my blessings, my happiness, and always remembering that I have so many more good times to look forward to. It is a balance of sitting with grief, as we don’t want to shove it away and not address it…but also not let it cloud how wonderful life is. If you feel cloudy and down, reach out…our communities can remind us that there is sunshine too ?. Lastly, we have built a lovely community here…so much beautiful interaction happens in the comments…so if you need support, please reach out. I am sure an angel here will take your hand ??

After an extremely honest Instagram post last week, Hilaria told her followers that she was likely experiencing a miscarriage in her first trimester. Two days ago, she confirmed that she lost the baby.

“When I get sad, I like to remind myself that sadness passes like a season,” she continued in her caption today. “I like to look at my blessings, my happiness, and always remembering that I have so many more good times to look forward to. It is a balance of sitting with grief, as we don’t want to shove it away and not address it…but also not let it cloud how wonderful life is.”

Counting your blessings is the yogi way, not to mention, a scientifically proven one. Research has shown that gratitude can improve your mood—and when practiced regularly, can cultivate long-term happiness because it literally rewires your brain. Helping others is another tried-and-true technique for finding joy, studies have found.

So keep on keeping on, Hilaria—you’re going to get through this while making the world a better place.
